New Winston Churchill Documentary to Show in Santa Fe. Moriah Films' Walking With Destiney will open March 4th in Santa Fe

 

NEW DOCUMENTARY: WINSTON CHURCHILL: WALKING WITH DESTINY TO OPEN IN SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO
Two-time Academy Award™- winning Moriah Films’ latest documentary to open at The Screen

On March 4, 2010, Winston Churchill:  Walking With Destiny, the newest production of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s two-time Academy Award™- winning Moriah Films, will open in Santa Fe at The Screen, 1600 St. Michael's Dr.  The documentary is scheduled for a full run. Narrated by Academy Award™ - winner, Sir Ben Kingsley, Winston Churchill:  Walking With Destiny recounts Churchill's years in the political wilderness, his early opposition to Adolf Hitler and Nazism, and his support for Jews under threat by the Nazi regime. The film also focuses on his return to government by the demand of the British people and his rise to the Prime Minister's office in 1940.

Winston Churchill:  Walking With Destiny was written by Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Moriah Films and Richard Trank, Moriah’s Executive Producer.  The film was produced by Rabbi Hier and Richard Trank; and directed by Richard Trank.

Production and distribution of this film was made possible, in large part, through the support, coordination and financial assistance of the Office of Holocaust Issues, U.S. Department of State.

Moriah Films is the Jack and Pearl Resnick Film Division of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.   Moriah’s documentaries focus on the 3,500 year old Jewish experience as well as contemporary human rights and ethical issues to both enlighten and educate while at the same time reach national and international audiences.  Two of Moriah’s films have been recipients of the Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary, Genocide (1981) and The Long Way Home (1997).
