Santa Fe Civil Air Patrol Honors Fallen Soldiers
Santa Fe On December 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, The Santa Fe Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will be honoring the Nation's fallen soldiers with a presentation of Wreaths Across America. The event will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in synchronization with the Wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery and across the Nation at noon (EST) 10:00 a.m. (MST) on Thursday, December 14th. Each participating Civil Air Patrol Unit will receive, present, and place five memorial wreaths to honor the 5 branches of the military, Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard. There will be representatives from each branch of the military at the ceremony.
2006 will mark the 15th anniversary of holiday wreaths being sent from the State of Maine to Arlington National Cemetery. Each year the Worcester Wreath Company, along with many volunteers, make and decorate the wreaths that will adorn the headstones of over 5000 grave markers of our Nation's fallen heroes. Bleached white stones with evergreen wreaths and red bows is a stirring image to commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this great country.
Civil Air Patrol is helping to expand the reaches of the wreath laying program by the placing of memorial wreaths at each of the over 270 State and National Cemeteries, and Monuments across the country. The Santa Fe Squadron would like to invite all who wish to join them to attend the event.
